Taking Back Who You Are!

During periods of life you can give ourself away in the belief that the person you give yourself to will not take you for granted. When you give the best of yourself to someone and you have not taken the time to qualify the relationship, hurt and pain is inevitable.

I want to share with you three things that you may need to consider so you can take back who you are and start living the life that you were born to live. These three things are just to give you the push you may need to start this important process.

1. Learn to say no without feeling guilty.

2. Start investing in YOU ( take a course, start reading books that will empower you to make a change).

3. Use your failures and past mistakes to propel you forward.

Each of these points can take a life time to work out but the most important thing is for you to start working on yourself and for you to become the best person that you can be.

Living A Vibrant Life in 2017 – Serving Others

Taking time to serve others is so important as it moves us from being self centered to focusing on others . Please remember it is important to take time to look after yourself, but it is also important to give some of your God given gift to uplifting others.

Serving others can take the form of voluntary work, stopping to help someone with directions or doing some work at your church. there are a host of this you can do.

Here are 3 others we should consider serving others:

  1. Serving others transforms who you are for the better from the inside out.
  2. It’s an opportunity to do small things with great love.
  3. When you give of yourself you begin to feel grateful for what you have and the opportunity to share it.

Take a moment and think of the last time you extended yourself to serve someone else without looking for something in return. If you can’t think of a time then I encourage you to start today.

Entering the rest of God

Hebrews chapter 4 talks of entering the rest of God. I don’t know about you but I have spent many years labouring in different areas of my life and I though it would never end. It tiring, draining and exhausting. Our daily prayer can be “Lord when is this situation going?” When is this financial drought going to end? When is this situation that I have been in for five years going to end? when, when,  Lord when ?

Well His word promises that we will enter into the rest of God if we keep leaning on and believing his word.  Spiritual perseverance is crucial to entering the rest of God. Keep believing and keep pushing.

Jeremiah 29:11 ~ For I know the thoughts that I think towards you , saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

This is one of my favourite verses because it speaks of God’s thoughts towards me. The way He thinks about me is different to how everyone else thinks of me.

People will always have their opinion about how you look, what you do, what you say, your background, your work etc but ultimately it is what God thinks about you that counts.  His thoughts are beautiful towards you and his aim is to give you hope and build your faith in the situations you face in life.

Think it not strange dear one regarding the trials ( 1 Peter 1:7) you are currently going through because they form part of your journey of life. God is not shocked or surprised and he has promised to walk on the waters with you. Just take his hand in prayer, praise and meditation of His word.

Lord Rebuild Me

Nehemiah chapter 4 talks of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. It was a burden to Nehemiah who was a cupbearer to the king. He came and gathered the people, as verse 6 says they had a mind to work.

As women we build families, children, careers, homes etc.  We build everything  around us and we forget to build ourselves. We give give give and before you realise it many years have passed and the strength we once has is gone. Many times we give to our own detriment.

It is time to ask God to rebuild you, to put back into you what you have lost. Reconstruction needs to take place. Ask God to send builders into your life who can speak words into your spirit that build you and repair the waste places in your life.

Do not allow what you have gone through to destroy your divine value.  You are too important to remain broken and hidden……. Let the construction begin!

You are a Trophy!

From Freeimages.com

Take a moment to read 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 in the amplified bible.

What is a trophy? It is an object that is given as a prize for winning a competition. Something gained or given in victory or conquest.

You are  a trophy of Christ’s victory & a sweet fragrance of Christ unto God.  Jesus’ death on the cross signalled a winners trophy in the spirit and you dear reader are the prize.

Is that a beautiful thought to consider? Think about it for a moment……..

So from today I encourage you to see yourself as God sees you, HIS trophy and a winner!

Pursued by HIS Love

i_love_you_37

” For God is my witness how I Long for and pursue you all with love, in the tender mercy of Christ Jesus (Himself) ~ Philippians 1:8 (amplified bible)

I came across this verse a few months ago whilst I was reading a book about the Apostle Paul. Paul had a love and strong affection for the people of Philippi. He longed for them, he longed to see them and he long to hear from them.

The Philippian church had a love toward God that extended to each other, other Christians and ministers of the gospel. They expressed it in their actions and with their heart.

Women love to be pursued by someone they love, it makes them feel wanted, appreciated, desired. But wait a minute…… let’s think for a moment,  God himself is pursuing us. At times in life we look for and pursue love and acceptance in the wrong places and while we are doing this He is pursuing us to show us His love.

Father God loves you with an everlasting love, let me write that again, Father God Loves you with an everlasting love. His love is pursuing you. Stop for a moment and tell him ” Father I receive your love, Father I accept your love”. Just think the one who created the trees, the sun, the moon and stars loves you.

1 Peter 5:7 ( amplified bible) says ” Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares for you watchfully”. Read that verse again …….slowly. Isn’t it beautiful.

Dear Heart, the love of Father God is concerned about everything about you and his love is pursuing you. Stand still long enough to receive it.

Quotes by Mother Theresa of Calcutta

Mother Theresa was a woman who dedicated her life to looking after the poor on the streets of Calcutta, India. I wanted to share a few of her quotes that have ministered to me.

mt

” Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”

” Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love”

“We shall never know the good that a simple smile can do”

” We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence….. we need silence to be able to touch souls.”

“Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work”

The President of the United States of America – The Pressures

obama1Living in London and observing what is currently going on in The United States has made me consider what it  must be really like being the President.

The daily pressure and extreme scrutiny from media outlets and social media must be excruciating. Not to mention the pressure from groups lobbying for their causes, national and personal security, international affairs, daily consistent criticism and the daily threats from opposing factors at home and abroad. What a workload! Of course he has a team around him to help carry the weight but the overall responsibility is his and his alone.

Barack Obama has set a precedent with the use of social media in terms of using it at grass root levels to gather support and momentum for his campaigns and it has worked well. He has broken so many barriers the first being the first African American to become president.

But I always wonder behind his great smile and charisma what are his pressures and challenges that we don’t see. When he leaves his day job and retreats to his private quarters, what pressing issues trouble him the most? The secrets he has to carry must be a burden.

I was watching Sky news last night and a news pundit stated that they did not like his policies but they admired the way he has stood up underneath the pressure of the job. The pressures and stress comes with the  territory.

It’s easy to criticise but how would you cope with the daily responsibility of approximately four hundred million people not including those abroad, trying to make  decisions for the best and being a fair representative for all the people. Not easy! The decisions made may go against his personal convictions but because of the nature of the job and the people his represents he has to make them.

Some of us manage small teams in the work place and have to balance out the team needs. How would you feel managing a few hundred million people and the fact that they all want something from you? What happens when you don’t deliver?

The bible encourages us to pray for those in authority.  If you are someone that prays lets pray for our leaders and their families on a regular basis because they are under pressures that we would never in a million years understand.

1st Timothy 2:1 – 2a

“… I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings

and all who are in authority…”
