I am in the middle of reading Acres of Diamonds by Russell Conwell (1843 – 1925). Conwell was born in the United States in the mid 1800’s. He was an ordained minister and his father was a supporter of the Underground Railroad that helped slaves flee the south to escape to the north and their freedom. His family home was a key station for the railroad and he accompanied his father on a few of these trips.
His book acres of diamonds is a speech he gave 6152 times throughout the course of his life and it is about the fact that so often we search for so many things in life thinking that they are on the outside of us and we go searching on the outside when actually it is within us.
The bible says we have a treasure in earthen vessels. Our destiny, future is within us. Jesus within us help us to bring out this treasure.
Look no further because what you need is within you. You may ask but I can’t see it! The reason you can’t see it is because it is covered with the pain and dirt of life and the many things you have gone through. You can never see yourself clearly in a mirror that needed cleaning can you?
Take a moment to pray and ask God to begin to clean you up so you can see the destiny he has for you because inside of you are acres of diamonds.
