Taking Back Who You Are!

During periods of life you can give ourself away in the belief that the person you give yourself to will not take you for granted. When you give the best of yourself to someone and you have not taken the time to qualify the relationship, hurt and pain is inevitable.

I want to share with you three things that you may need to consider so you can take back who you are and start living the life that you were born to live. These three things are just to give you the push you may need to start this important process.

1. Learn to say no without feeling guilty.

2. Start investing in YOU ( take a course, start reading books that will empower you to make a change).

3. Use your failures and past mistakes to propel you forward.

Each of these points can take a life time to work out but the most important thing is for you to start working on yourself and for you to become the best person that you can be.

Living a Vibrant Life in 2017~Identify Blessings Daily

Each day that we wake up in the morning is a blessing. It is an opportunity to express gratitude to the one who created us and it also gives you a chance to commit your day to God in prayer. Before you go to bed identify another blessing that you can be grateful for from your busy day.

I have come to realize that it is important to identify at least one blessing in everyday, even if I have had a bad day there is always at least one thing good I can be thankful for.

Being grateful daily will build a positive stronghold in your life and it will eventually change the way you see your life and the lives of those around you. So start today and begin to identify daily blessings, try it for the next 21 days and see how your life and attitude changes.

There is a lot of negativity in the world so join me in changing our immediate world one daily blessing at a time.

Dealing with Depression

Deut 31:8.   Deut 32:10   Psalms 40:1~3

Depression is one of the subjects that the church sweeps and keeps under the carpet. Many Christians sit in church’s under an evil cloud of depression and because they may not here the subject preached in their local church they feel that it is something they can never share or ask for the help they need. They feel ashamed. The enemy wants to keep you in the realm of darkness so he can continue to tourment you. Please remember you are not alone.

I have experienced depression a few times through the course of my life.  Thank God I reached out for help with Christian  Councelling. Depression can be complex and vary from person to person and symptoms can persist from several weeks to months or even years in some cases.  People can be affected by so badly that it interferes with there work, social and family life.

Some of the physiological symptoms can include:

1. Continuous low mood and sadness.

2. Feeling hopeless and helpless

3. low self esteem

4. feeling tearful

5. No motivation or interest in things you once loved.

6. Finding it difficult to make decisions

7. Not enjoying life.

8. Anxious or worried

9. Thoughts of suicide or self harm.

Some of the physical symptoms can include:

1. Moving or speaking slower than usual.

2. A change in appetite. You are eating more or less than normal.

3. Unexplained aches and pains

4. Lack of energy/sex drive

5. Disturbed sleep patterns

6. Avoid contact with family or friends.

Here are four practical tips that I have used and continue to use in dealing with depression and I pray that you will find them helpful. But please remember that if you need to get counselling then please take that step and never allow pride to hinder you from asking for help.

Tip1. Form positive new habits, breaking the old ones and distorted thinking patterns. Rewire your mind. I constantly listen to messages and speakers that challenge my thinking and I also listen to worship because it removes the emphasis from me and puts it on God.

Tip2. I love walking and so I walk 2 miles, five days a week as a way to just clear my mind, I also love water aerobics so I do this weekly along with a sauna, steam and jacuzzi treatments. I loveeeee this!😄

Tip3. I try not to spend to much time alone, so I make the effort to have positive interactions daily. I have also developed my hobbies of reading, blogging, visiting museums and travelling.

Tip4. I also take the time to memorise scripture so I can meditate on them throughout the day.

There are some great christian counselling services available and I would encourage you to seek out their assistance. God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly and above all you may ask or think. He wants you to prosper in every area of your life and it is not his desire for you to be unhappy with the life he gave you. He wants you to have abundant life, a full life, a happy life and a rich life and by His grace dear heart you will.

Life’s Unanswered Questions

I was reading my daily devotional by Joyce Meyer a few days ago and she was sharing on life’s unanswered questions.

I am sure each person has a series of unanswered questions about their life or situations. Why did I have to go through that pain? I thought that person was my friend? I trusted that person why did they turn around and betray me? The list goes on.

I have a series of unanswered questions about a situation I faced over many years and I still have no answers and maybe I will never get an answer. But what I have done is taken the lessons I have learnt through it and used it for good to better myself and encourage others. I have refused to allow it to cast a shadow over who God created me to be or on my journey to living a great life. Yes I have been asking God questions about it but after sometime time I stopped asking because it was eroding my life journey and I was becoming bitter. I have one life to live and I intend to enjoy it.

What unanswered questions do you have? Is the situation still casting a shadow over your life? What steps are you planning to take to let it go and move on? I am not judging anyone here I just want to encourage you to change the path of your life by choosing to be happy and to not allow what happened to you to chain you to a painful past.

Choose today dear heart to let the questions go and start living!

Becoming 50

Last year I turned 50 years old. I looked forward to it because I counted it a privilege to see 50. It was and still is a time to reflect on what I have accomplished during my 50 years. The reflection was a humbling experience because I realised that due to certain circumstances I could have died or had severe mental illness.

I thank God for each day that I wake up because I have learnt to appreciate the things that we all to often take for granted. Like walking, talking, smiling, working, sharing, love, joy, peace.

I have stretch marks due to pregnancy, cuts from cooking, falling etc. but each of my stretch marks and scars tell a unique story about me and my life’s journey. I have cried many tears, laughed until I could not laugh anymore and my sides ached and prayed and prayed and prayed until my knees became calloused. I serve a mighty God, Oh yes I do and through each painful step of my 50 year journey Jesus was there. Some of you may be thinking as you read this why is she becoming religious??? This is my story not yours, my journey not yours. Jesus has been good to me and I thank him every day.

These are a few of the things I have learnt on my journey in no particular order:

1. Appreciate whom God has created you to be. Do not let anyone or any circumstance tell you otherwise. God’s perspective of you is the one that matters.

2. Be thankful on a daily basis and cultivate a grateful heart.

3. Cultivate a prayerful heart.

4. Take time to be still daily. Being busy every minute of day is not good for you.

5.Do exercises that you enjoy and eat well.

6.Do not worry what people think of you…. Keep it moving.

7.Do not be afraid to say no.

8.Never stop learning new things. I love to read!!

9.Always be willing to say sorry. Pride is ugly and God does not like ugly.

10. Do not be dismissive of anyone. There is gold locked up in them.

My children tell me that since I turned 50 I have become my bold in my attitude  and you know what….it feels good.

Please enjoy your life there is so much to see, to do and enjoy. Do not become stagnant in appreciating the things around you and try to find good in each day even though you may be going through a hard time. Enjoy and live life.😊
