Living A Vibrant Life in 2017 – Serving Others

Taking time to serve others is so important as it moves us from being self centered to focusing on others . Please remember it is important to take time to look after yourself, but it is also important to give some of your God given gift to uplifting others.

Serving others can take the form of voluntary work, stopping to help someone with directions or doing some work at your church. there are a host of this you can do.

Here are 3 others we should consider serving others:

  1. Serving others transforms who you are for the betterĀ from the inside out.
  2. It’s an opportunity to do small things with great love.
  3. When you give of yourself you begin to feel grateful for what you have and the opportunity to share it.

Take a moment and think of the last time you extended yourself to serve someone else without looking for something in return. If you can’t think of a time then I encourage you to start today.

Inhale Exhale

I woke up one night and as I was reading my bible the thought came to me inhale exhale inhale exhale.

We sit in church for so many years and we inhale so many messages, attend conferences, christian television etc. inhale inhale inhale! We have become fat on the word! When do we exhale? Exhale with encouraging someone, exhale in prayer for others, exhale in giving, etc. When was the last time you exhaled?

We have a treasure in earthen vessels that need to be shared. We need to give Jesus away. We are his point of contact with the world. He touches others by using our hands, voice, smile, money and anything else we have. He needs us to exhale.

Can you imagine if all we did was inhale oxygen, we would die in a very short space of time. Exhaling always follows inhaling. It a process, it’s a divine bodly function. We can only hold our breath for a few seconds.

Take a moment to consider when was the last time you exhaled? If you can’t remember start exhaling today!

Acts of Kindness

God is not unjust to forget your labour of love that you have shown towards those in need of it. For every kind word, gesture or seed sown there is a reward.

These acts of kindness that we give, a smile, a thank you it all goes a long way for someone who is thirsty to receive it.

The days, months and years of kindness that Ruth showed Naomi culminated in an impressive harvest from God. Boaz was fully aware of her sacrifices, acts of service and love. Her act of consistent faith and giving moved Boaz to pronounce a blessing on her. He said to her that The Lord would recompense her sacrifice and reward her for her labour.

In today’s world an act of kindness is seen as strange, something that was common place in years gone by. I challenge you today to build a beautiful memorial for your future by doing acts of kindness, starting today.

If you are unsure where to start here are a few ideas:

* Smile.

* Say thank you by sending a thank you card, an email or tweet.

* Volunteer your time in a local primary school or charity.

* Give up your seat on the bus or train to an elderly person, a pregnant
Woman or a person with a disability.

* Take a minute to direct someone who appears to be lost.

* Buy a homeless person something to eat.

* Say “I love you” to someone you love.

* Say you are sorry when you are wrong.

There is so much negative in our world lets form a habit of kindness one act at a time.
