Are you sabotaging your gifts?

You are born with a gift that should be shared with everyone you come into contact with. You are gifted and your were born  to shine.

Unfortunately there are people who do not appreciate the gifts that they are born with and will go as far as to sabotage it. Below are 3 reasons why someone may self sabotage their gift.

  1. Self Hate ~ This is such  powerful emotion that affects a person’s perception of who they are and their body image.
  2. Comfort zone ~ Everyone has a comfort zone they retreat to when a new challenged is faced. The unfortunate thing is that nothing grows in comforts zones and it will keep you in a very small box where expression is not possible because of fear.
  3. Fear ~ This can be a root that holds a person back and holds their gift hostage as some people are afraid of succeeding.

Dear reader if  you are someone who has hidden your gift for any of the reasons above or for any other reason then I am challenging you to take steps to change your mind and heart towards your gift.

Take time to examine why you self sabotage what God has placed in side of you because only YOU can share and bless others with what God placed inside of you.

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

What would you do if you had no fear? Get a piece of  paper and a pen and write down 3 things you would do if you had no fear.

Ok now look at  what you have written as ask yourself these questions. Write down the answers if you need to.

  1. Why am I allowing fear to stop me from achieving these 3 things?
  2. Why am I afraid?
  3. Will I allow my fears to hinder my future?
  4. What am I going to do about it?

This is my challenge to you and remember your fears are shielding you from your destiny.

F.E.A.R ~ False Evidence Appearing Real

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

The acronym for fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. This is one of my favourite acronyms because it sums up the essence of what fear really is. Don’t get me wrong I think a bit of fear is good if you are taking a step to try something new, having that kind of edge can be helpful. However fear that is prolonged, crippling and paralysing is destructive and intervention is needed.

Remember the acronym says that fear give false evidence. Many of the things that we are in fear of never happens, its false evidence. So whenever you feel afraid or fear is having an usual grip on you take a moment to examine it and ask yourself the question is this fear painting a false picture of an event that may never happen? If you need help to  unravel it then get help but don’t allow yourself to be in bondage by such an emotion.

Remember your destiny and vision is too important to be trapped by false evidence that appears to be real.

Conquer Your Fears ~ Enter Your Destiny! Overcoming Your Fears

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

Over coming our fears is an important factor to entering our destiny or trying something new. Fear keeps you in the same place day after day, week after week and before you realise it years have gone by and you have made no progress in life.

Below are three things to consider when taking steps to overcome your fears.

  1. If your fears are a result of things you have done in the past take a moment to repent and ask God to forgive you (1 John 1:9) and move on. Remember it is also important to forgive yourself.
  2. Getting adequate sleep in critical as not getting enough can cause depression, anxiety and impedes functions spiritually, emotionally and physically.
  3. Talking to some one can bring relief to situations that we are facing. Having another persons’ perspective can help evaluate situations. Counselling is another option to consider if professional help is needed.

I John 4:18 say “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”  Fear will keep you in torment and not able to enjoy the perfected love of Christ.

So my challenge to you today is to deal with your fears before it deals with you and steals the inner treasure of your heart.

Conquer your Fears. Enter your Destiny~ Intro

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

During the month of October I shared on periscope ( download the app and follow me @jenny_allen) about conquering your fear so you can enter your destiny. Over the next few weeks I will be blogging some of this content.

All of us have fears, anxieties about life and how we manage them is critical.  Firstly, fear can be defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain or harm. Other words that can be used in place of the word fear are terror, fright, horror, alarm, dread and distress. The power of these words can paralyse anyone from entering their destiny.

What fears do you have that is keeping you in the same place? What is keeping you from taking that step of faith? Only you can answer that question!

God’s Best Kept Secret ~ Zenice Harasymchuk

One in three women are victims of domestic violence worldwide. That is too many women in my opinion. Hi, my name is Zenice and I am a 48 year old survivor, mother and disciple of Jesus Christ. My life has not been easy, it has been a series of one type of abuse after another but about eight years ago I began a journey with Jesus that has transformed my life.

Transparency and vulnerability in the church is important to me. Many churches don’t talk about domestic violence. My question to those churches is why? It’s a topic that many would like to sweep under the rug as though it were not a huge and growing problem. Think about this: there are upwards of 20 people per minute who are suffering from physical violence by an intimate partner, and that is just in the United States! That is just one type of abuse! So in the last hour, 1200 people were physically abused by their intimate partner. That’s too many.

There are so many types of abuse: child abuse, physical, emotional, mental, financial and sexual abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking and bullying. This is out of control. The church is silent on most of these things although human trafficking is growing in awareness. I cannot sit in my church any longer and be silent. I know that God has called me to help those who are broken and abused. My role is to walk alongside and point them to Jesus who is the Healer. My passions are Jesus, prayer, revival, awakening and helping women. How do these things come together? By being the church to this lost and dying world. Being a voice to bring awareness to the Body of Christ to no longer turn a blind eye to those who are being abused in their midst.

I have a dream of seeing women who have survived abusive situations to rise up and share their stories and come alongside the women who are in abusive relationships now or trying to get out. I believe that Jesus heals us from all of the effects that abuse can leave as long lasting scars on our lives whether it be depression, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, anxiety or isolation and fear. Jesus alone is our healer. On January 11, 2009 Jesus healed me and the healing was instantaneous but I had to learn how to walk out my healing. I had to learn how to live a life that didn’t include pain, fear, depression and suicidal thoughts. This journey has taken me seven years but today I am an on fire disciple of Jesus dedicated to seeing women set free from bondage to the effects of abuse.

I am at the beginning stages of starting a ministry in my region that is what I believe to be different than what is available now. My desire is to begin with a support group that will really be more than a support group. I’ve been in support groups before and I only see that people talk about their issues and nothing changes. I believe the missing element is Jesus. I believe there needs to be prayer and worship along with education and support. I pray that this will not just be for my region but that others will take this to their regions as well. One in three women worldwide are victims of domestic violence. How many will the church reach? Let’s get started now.
