3 Reasons To Keep Dreaming Big

Our imagination is something that we tend to neglect or take for granted because we have not be taught that it is a gate way to accomplishing our goals.

Your imagination is a great creative tool that can take you from seeing something in your mind’s eye to actually seeing it as a physical reality. That creative ability is God given and the bible shows us what God did with His ability in Genesis 1.

There  are so many people who dreamed big and it became their reality. Here are some examples:

  • Oprah Winfrey ~ The OWN Network
  • Tyler Perry ~ The Tyler Perry Studios
  • Walt Disney ~ Disney Land Amusement Park
  • Sylvester Stallone ~ The Rocky Film Series

Let me share with you 3 reasons why you should keep dreaming:

  1. Your imagination has absolutely no limits. If there are limits in place then you put them there.
  2. Dreaming big costs you nothing! Now….. isn’t that a bargin its FREE.
  3. Don’t allow anyone to stop you from dreaming big because of their own negativity or lack of confidence.

You are what you think and You are what you dream! However it is important to remember that behind every dream there is also physical work you have to do to prepare, this must never be over looked so make sure you have plans in place.

Finally… Keep this quote in mind:

BIG DREAMS

……. Start Inside

…….Take Courage

…….Involves Effort

…….Includes Mistakes

…….Builds Character

……..Are Achivable

Conquer Your Fears ~ Enter Your Destiny! Overcoming Your Fears

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

Over coming our fears is an important factor to entering our destiny or trying something new. Fear keeps you in the same place day after day, week after week and before you realise it years have gone by and you have made no progress in life.

Below are three things to consider when taking steps to overcome your fears.

  1. If your fears are a result of things you have done in the past take a moment to repent and ask God to forgive you (1 John 1:9) and move on. Remember it is also important to forgive yourself.
  2. Getting adequate sleep in critical as not getting enough can cause depression, anxiety and impedes functions spiritually, emotionally and physically.
  3. Talking to some one can bring relief to situations that we are facing. Having another persons’ perspective can help evaluate situations. Counselling is another option to consider if professional help is needed.

I John 4:18 say “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”  Fear will keep you in torment and not able to enjoy the perfected love of Christ.

So my challenge to you today is to deal with your fears before it deals with you and steals the inner treasure of your heart.

The Divine Exchange

Isaiah 61:3 ~ To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.”

Life is a continuous exchange of one thing for another. For example,

– We are paid a salary from our place of employment for our time and skill set.

– We breath in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.

– Plants breath in carbon dioxide and breath out oxygen.

– We go shopping and buy goods and pay the supplier using money as an exchange.

The list continues. Isaiah 61:3 says that God gives beauty for ashes. Jesus came to give freedom to those who are captives, captives in whatever negative state we find ourselves. He also came to give sight to those who are blind whether spiritually or physically. This is the divine exchange. Jesus came to give you an abundant and fulfilled life in exchange for your hurts. When you ask him into your situation he will give you wisdom and understanding to walk though it and he will also lift the sting of the situation. He takes pain and brings healing, He takes sadness and bring joy and he takes shame and brings acceptance.

Please do not misunderstand me our circumstances may not change instantly or in a day, weeks or months, but with the exchange comes a new perspective and all that we face on a daily basis. Life is not perfect and no human being is perfect but we can live each day with a heart of love, appreciation and thanksgiving. The divine exchange gives you a new pair of glasses on life and this enables you to see things more clearly.

Take a moment and think about the things in your life that you would like God to give you new insight on, be honest and just speak to him from your heart with no pretence.

My prayer for you ~ Lord Jesus I pray for the person reading this prayer. Give them beauty and healing in the areas of their life that is hurting. Pour on them your oil of joy and reveal yourself to them in a meaning way, personal to their present need. in Jesus name, Amen.

Entering the rest of God

Hebrews chapter 4 talks of entering the rest of God. I don’t know about you but I have spent many years labouring in different areas of my life and I though it would never end. It tiring, draining and exhausting. Our daily prayer can be “Lord when is this situation going?” When is this financial drought going to end? When is this situation that I have been in for five years going to end? when, when,  Lord when ?

Well His word promises that we will enter into the rest of God if we keep leaning on and believing his word.  Spiritual perseverance is crucial to entering the rest of God. Keep believing and keep pushing.

Jeremiah 29:11 ~ For I know the thoughts that I think towards you , saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

This is one of my favourite verses because it speaks of God’s thoughts towards me. The way He thinks about me is different to how everyone else thinks of me.

People will always have their opinion about how you look, what you do, what you say, your background, your work etc but ultimately it is what God thinks about you that counts.  His thoughts are beautiful towards you and his aim is to give you hope and build your faith in the situations you face in life.

Think it not strange dear one regarding the trials ( 1 Peter 1:7) you are currently going through because they form part of your journey of life. God is not shocked or surprised and he has promised to walk on the waters with you. Just take his hand in prayer, praise and meditation of His word.

The Gift

When are you going to start believing, acknowledging, using and releasing the gifts that God placed inside of you? To continue to bury or deny these gifts is to deny and bury  the uniqueness God placed inside of you.

Psalms 34:4-6 shares how David sought the Lord and the Lord heard him and delivered him from all his fears. If your fears, lack of confidence and low self-esteem is keeping you from cultivating your gifts then you need to cry out in prayer as David did and ask God to deliver you from your fears. God can and will deliver you from your insecurities and fears if you ask him.

Your gifts are necessary, the people you need to touch are waiting, the holy spirit of God is waiting. When are you going to release the gift?

God’s Best Kept Secret ~ Lorraine Spence

I have often heard it said “I am not called to prayer” well I would like to challenge that comment as I don’t know where that comes from or what would make any believer even believe such a ridiculous theory. Well if there is one thing we are ALL called to is PRAY so hopefully by the time you have finished reading this you will realise that we are ALL, including you called to pray.  Real prayer is a 2-way activity, which consist of speaking and listening, not the type where you come to God with your list of I wants, Matthew 6:33 tells us to ‘see you first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added’. Real prayer is, praying the heart & the will of God, Matthew 6:10 ‘Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done’ Luke 22:42 ‘nevertheless not my will but Thine will be done’.

There are approximately 650 prayers in the bible and the actual word pray is mentioned over 300 times (KJV), that’s right, that alone should let you know how important prayer is to every believer and your relationship with the Father. Prayer or praying should be the most natural action every ‘born again’ believer should participate in regardless of their position or title, whether you serve in ministry or not, whether it’s congregational, group or alone, whether it’s in church or out of church – prayer is key.

Did you know that babies say their first words roughly at about 6 months and string together their firs 6 or so words by about 18 months? So I’ll just about give you the first 6 months to find your feet and adjust to the change, but after that you should definitely be speaking to the Father on a daily basis. There is absolutely no excuse not to develop a consistent prayer life as it is an integral part of your development and relationship with God. Imagine for a moment that you have a child which never cries, speaks or interacts with you in any way, what would you do? I know for a fact you would not just sit here and accept it, no you’d probably rush to the doctor’s surgery or to the baby clinic looking for answers, not only that what, what would you say to family and friends? Surely not “my child is not required to react or communicate with me”. This wouldn’t prevent you from loving your child and neither does it prevent God from loving you, but you would long for the interaction, as does God.

The dictionary describes prayer as ‘a solemn request for her or an expression of thanks’ well that is pretty sad because prayer is so much more. Prayer is how we interact with God, how we communicate, how we build our relationship and see Him as our father. Without interaction through prayer a real meaningful relationship cannot be properly cultivated or developed. The bible tells us in Luke 18:1 men ought always to pray, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to ‘pray without ceasing, James 5:26 tells us the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man avails much, in Matthew 6:9 – 23 Jesus instructs the disciples how to pray and again in Luke 11:1 the disciples even though having spent a lot of time with Jesus, were asking Jesus to teach them how to pray. So having read this do you still believe that you are not called to pray?

Lorraine’s Bio

Born 2nd of 4 children of Jamaican parentage, I grew up in an area
what was considered quite suburban. I grew up going to the local
Baptist church with my siblings where we were taught all the bible
stories and basic prayer.  I wasn’t taught anything about the gift of
Salvation nor my need for it. I remember about a year or so before I
gave my life to the Lord having a ‘strange’ desire to go to church & I
didn’t know why, nor did I know my life was about to change – forever.

I gave my life to the Lord aged 28, on my 2nd visit to a local
Pentecostal church & have not looked back since. It was at Alpha &
Omega Christian Fellowship where I discovered prayer & naturally
gravitated towards it. I used to listen to the Pastor & the older
church members pray and with all my heart wanted to be able to pray
like them. so I started to attend prayer meetings & arrive at church
extra early, the same time as the ‘Prayer Warriors’ (yeah that’s what
they were called) so I could join in the prayer. I was recommended a
book called The Joy of Prayer by Larry Lea, after reading this book I
was well & truly hooked. My desire is to see all nations come back to God through the power of prayer & intercession.

I currently serve as team leader of an Intercessory prayer team. I
love to train people & help them develop their  God given gifts but
more so help ‘believers’ understand that their natural should be
‘supernatural’ & this is possible through understanding the Word of
God & relationship with God through the Holy Spirit via prayer.

Transitioning Alone

As the earth continues to spin on its axis our lives also continue to spin. No twenty four hour period is the same. A mobile phone we used in 1999 will not work in 2016. Today’s latest iPhone will not work in 2025, why?? because of transitions.

Life is consistently changing and whether we like it or not we are adapting to it. We have to or we will not be able to live our daily life. During periods of transitions it is also a time for us to evaluate our relationships and ask ourselves will this relationship allow me to transition with them or will I have to transition alone?

It can be a scary thought but it is something we all at one point or another in our life have to consider. Transitioning alone is daunting but if we are to fulfill our destinies or God given vision then it may have to be a step we may have to take.

We do not want to look back over our life and see regret littered along the way because of fear of taking a step. Take this opportunity to consider your relationships, prayerfully evaluate them and decide if they can walk with you or will you have to transition alone.
