God’s Best Kept Secret ~ Duana Cooper

Thanks for having me on your blog. As a young stay at home mother of three beautiful children, I have to make time for everything thing I do especially time for myself. After spending my day catering to my children, I get some “me time” once I put them to bed. During this time, I read my bible, spend quality time with my husband, edit videos, and catch up on shows that I do not watch while my kids are awake. I also have a loving supportive husband that helps with the children when I need a break. He is amazing when it comes to helping around the house. I also get time for myself is when my children are in school. My first two attended a preschool at the age of 2 for two days out the week. Since we are done having children, my youngest son will start once he turns 3. Then, this will give me more time to do things around the house or anything I want to do. I would recommend this for any mother out there with small children. This also helps the child with social development.  My self-esteem has been built over the years because of my family. They let me know how they appreciate what I do for them. My children love to write me notes, give me flowers, or rocks that they find. That alone lets me know that I am doing my part as their mother. My husband lets me know how blessed he is to have me. Hearing that would make any woman feel confident and secure in their marriage. I also like to work out to make sure I look the best that I can. This helps eliminate any stress. It also makes me energized for the rest of the day. Also, making sure that I look presentable helps with my self-esteem. I do not get all dressed up often depending on where I’m going. But, when I do, it makes me feel good about myself. To me, when I look my best, I feel my best and other can tell.

My Christian faith plays a big part in my life. We are members of the Church of Christ. I was raised in the church at a very young age. My mother made it her duty that we went to church every Sunday and Wednesday. Also, if there was a gospel meeting going on, we were there. That is why my love for God is so strong. My husband and I have raised our kids the same way. They never want to miss Sunday school or a chance to go to church. As a family, we are still learning and growing everyday by the grace of God.

What would you do if you had no fear? – Challenge

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

What would you do if you had no fear? Get a piece of  paper and a pen and write down 3 things you would do if you had no fear.

Ok now look at  what you have written as ask yourself these questions. Write down the answers if you need to.

  1. Why am I allowing fear to stop me from achieving these 3 things?
  2. Why am I afraid?
  3. Will I allow my fears to hinder my future?
  4. What am I going to do about it?

This is my challenge to you and remember your fears are shielding you from your destiny.

F.E.A.R ~ False Evidence Appearing Real

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

The acronym for fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. This is one of my favourite acronyms because it sums up the essence of what fear really is. Don’t get me wrong I think a bit of fear is good if you are taking a step to try something new, having that kind of edge can be helpful. However fear that is prolonged, crippling and paralysing is destructive and intervention is needed.

Remember the acronym says that fear give false evidence. Many of the things that we are in fear of never happens, its false evidence. So whenever you feel afraid or fear is having an usual grip on you take a moment to examine it and ask yourself the question is this fear painting a false picture of an event that may never happen? If you need help to  unravel it then get help but don’t allow yourself to be in bondage by such an emotion.

Remember your destiny and vision is too important to be trapped by false evidence that appears to be real.

Conquer Your Fears ~ Enter Your Destiny! Overcoming Your Fears

bible-verse-no-fears-4224203

Over coming our fears is an important factor to entering our destiny or trying something new. Fear keeps you in the same place day after day, week after week and before you realise it years have gone by and you have made no progress in life.

Below are three things to consider when taking steps to overcome your fears.

  1. If your fears are a result of things you have done in the past take a moment to repent and ask God to forgive you (1 John 1:9) and move on. Remember it is also important to forgive yourself.
  2. Getting adequate sleep in critical as not getting enough can cause depression, anxiety and impedes functions spiritually, emotionally and physically.
  3. Talking to some one can bring relief to situations that we are facing. Having another persons’ perspective can help evaluate situations. Counselling is another option to consider if professional help is needed.

I John 4:18 say “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”  Fear will keep you in torment and not able to enjoy the perfected love of Christ.

So my challenge to you today is to deal with your fears before it deals with you and steals the inner treasure of your heart.

Conquer your Fears. Enter your Destiny~ Intro

During the month of October I shared on periscope ( download the app and follow me @jenny_allen) about conquering your fear so you can enter your destiny. Over the next few weeks I will be blogging some of this content.

All of us have fears, anxieties about life and how we manage them is critical.  Firstly, fear can be defined as an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain or harm. Other words that can be used in place of the word fear are terror, fright, horror, alarm, dread and distress. The power of these words can paralyse anyone from entering their destiny.

What fears do you have that is keeping you in the same place? What is keeping you from taking that step of faith? Only you can answer that question!
